Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 4

Hello Reception 1 families!

We have continued to explore our wonderful world this week and the children have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the book and illustrations by Tim Hopgood and learning the song What a Wonderful World sung by Louis Armstrong. Follow the link below with your child and I am sure they will enjoy singing along with you.

We have learnt learnt y and z in phonics and the children have enjoy writing the letters on the interactive board.

In maths we have been finding out about 6, 7, and 8. Some children made the number 8 from playdough.

The children have enjoyed finding out about different animal habitats around the world and we talked about a special place that the children would like to live in. They had some great ideas!

Miss Edwards and I and the PE coaches have seen the children's confidence develop in their PE sessions. The children performed their Trolls dance on their own this week.

Outside, the children were very excited to find ice in the rim of the tyres. They enjoyed moving it from the tyres and putting it in the tough spot where they could see air bubbles in the ice.

This week we read the story These Feelings which promoted a great session talking about our feelings, and helping the children to understand that if they are feeling sad or upset, these feelings don't last forever.

Our medal winner this week is Ada! Well done Ada you are a friendly, happy little girl who has tried her best with all the activities this week. Keep it up!

Please can I ask that your children practise reading their helpful words. We are focusing on them in class. Thank you for all your continued support.

I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care
