Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week beginning 14th June

What a busy week we’ve had in 1G this week!

In English we read a story of Jack and the Beanstalk told from the giant’s point of view and used this to act out our own ‘giant’ stories. We worked well in our groups and had lots of different ideas. It was great fun smiley

In Maths this week we have begun to work out the answers to multiplication sums practically and using arrays. We have used our skills of counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to help us.

Multiplication is all about how many ‘groups of’ a number there are. First we learnt about repeated addition and then learnt about rows and columns in arrays. I’ve included some information below that might help explain this better and extra work if the children want to practise at home.

On Friday the handball coaches came to give us a taster session. We all enjoyed this new sport and it was a great way to end the day.

Please can I remind you that on MONDAY and FRIDAY the children should come to school ready for their PE sessions wearing either jogging bottoms or leggings or shorts, a white PE shirt or their yellow shirt, trainers or pumps and their school jumper. Can you also make sure they have their water bottle in school everyday especially as the weather is so warm at the moment, thank you.

Have a good weekend and I'll see you next week 😊
