Good morning everybodyπ I hope you are all well.We really enjoyed the zoom meeting yesterday. We loved your jokes ! It was a shame we ran out of time, but we will see you again soon. Have a look at today’s activities, I hope you will enjoy them π
Tomorrow is the first day of the Chinese New Year, so our activities are going to be all about that. Chinese people all over the world will be celebrating. Watch these videos to see what special things will be happening.
A calendar is all about days, months and years. There is a Chinese calendar called the zodiac calendar. Each year is named after an animal. This year is going to be the year of the ox. There is a story about how the order of animals was decided, a long time ago.
I would like you to write some sentences today about what you have found out. You could write about the things Chinese people do to celebrate the new year. You could write about how the animals had a race. You can write about how the rat cheated or how the rabbit crossed the river.I would love you to use words such as First, Next, After that and Finally to start your sentences.
Remember, capital letters to start a sentence and full stop at the end. There’s a word mat to help you spell the animal names. When you have finished you can draw a picture to illustrate. Here is a picture of an ox that you might be able to print off and enjoy colouring in.
Before you start, why not check out this letter formation activity and then your letters will be beautifully written.( we use the second k)
