Good morning everybody! It was really nice yesterday to be able to check in and see the children (and grown-ups) who are learning from home at the moment on the zoom meetings.It was great to see happy little faces.

Today is Thursday and the week is whizzing by. Are you ready for today’s home learning – let’s get started!

Topic/Literacy

I would like you to think about where a penguin lives and where we live. We are going to compare where we live to where a penguin lives. Is there anything that is the same? Are there any differences? Draw a picture of both and see how different they look. Write one thing that is the same and one thing that is different. Grown-ups, you can help your child write the words if they need support. Remember to use the sound mats and letter formation sheets to help you.

Phonics

Today we are going to revisit the ai digraph (2 letters that make 1 sound). Have a look at the picture of the jolly phonics action, then have a listen to the jolly phonics song

Now I would like you to join in with me on the video blending ai words.

Maths

Choose a couple of the counting activities we have used previously, counting forwards, backwards, 1 more/1 less choosing the numbers your child is confident with, 5/10/20. Next, watch the video lesson on addition.

Story

Miss Edwards is going to read our story today. She is going to read Little Lost Penguin. Time to get comfy and enjoy listening to the story.
