Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 2

Hello Reception 1 families.

What a busy week it has been! Carrying on with our topic we have been learning about our feelings and emotions this week. The children have enjoyed listening to some lovely stories, The Colour Monster Goes to School, Ruby's Worry and stories explaining individual emotions. They have listened to different scenarios and said how they think they would feel in that situation.

In maths we have been looking at circles and triangles and creating some abstract art in the style of Kandinsky.

The children have continued to impress Courtney the dance teacher and Mr Shingler with their efforts in PE.

I was glad to be back in class this week with your amazing children. They have really settled into the routine of reception whilst having lots of fun. Your children have been very welcoming and helping me settle back into class. Miss Edwards and I would like to thank you all for attending Parent's evening this week and we are both very proud of the progress the children have made.

On Friday we observed a1 minute silence with the rest of the school to commemorate Remembrance Day. We ended the week by making our own poppies and made a poppy biscuit with Mrs Richardson (pics to follow).

Noor passed on our medal this week to Oliver. Oliver always gives 100% and whatever he does and is a very happy, friendly, helpful and caring little boy!

Next week we will begin our Christmas activities and start to learn the songs for our Christmas performance.

It is anti-bullying week next week, with a focus on friendship, so on Monday 14th November your child can come to school wearing odd socks with their uniform to symbolise and celebrate difference and diversity.

Wednesday 16th November is the rescheduled date for the children's flu vaccinations.

Friday 18th November the children can come to school dressed in their own clothes wearing something yellow for Friendship Friday. Please bring a donation to school on Friday and raise funds for our PFTA.

Have a lovely weekend and please enjoy looking at some photos.
