Happy Monday everybody!
Miss Edwards and I hope you have had a lovely weekend.
Well done to the children who have been reading books from the Epic online library! If you have not already had a look at he Epic site, please do, as there are lots of books on there that your child can read or audio books to listen to.
Are you ready to get started on today’s home learning – let’s go!
Topic
For our topic work today I would like you to be a scientist.
We are going to carry out an experiment. For this activity you will need – a small teddy or soft toy and a freezer.
Put the teddy/soft toy in to the freezer for a short amount of time, until it starts to freeze. Ask your child to think of different ways to help to get teddy warm again after his polar adventure. I look forward to hearing about your different ideas.
Literacy/Writing
Today I would like the children to practise writing their name using the correct letter formation.
Following on from that, we are going to practise forming the curly caterpillar letters correctly. Please encourage your child to look on the attached document to see where they need to start to write the letters. You can practise writing the letters on a whiteboard, on paper, in salt, glitter or finger paint.
Phonics
Using the flashcards you have made, recap ch, sh, th, ng, ai, ay
Today we are going to revisit the ee digraph.
The video attached has the song and the action picture.
How many words can you think of with the ee sound in?
Maths
Let’s warm up your brains with some counting before we move on to subtraction.
Numbers to 10Have a go at answering the subtraction number sentences on the PowerPoint.
