Week 5
Hello Reception 1 families!
Well your children have certainly been busy this week! Our topic has lead us to finding out about children of the world. R1 have been busy looking at different countries on the map and finding the countries that their families are from and colouring the country flags. The children were very interested to look at different clothing from around the world.
In maths they have explored the numbers 6, 7 and 8 - matching pictures and numerals.
In phonics we have learnt the sounds 'qu' and 'zz' and the children are trying really hard to form the letters and numbers correctly. Miss Edwards and I are very proud of how the children's confidence is developing to enable them to begin to write a sentence.
This week we have been lucky with the weather and the children have really enjoyed lots of outdoor play. They really do have fantastic imaginations.
Next week we will explore animals around the world which I am sure the children will enjoy!
