Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 3

Hello all. Reception 1 have had a great week!

We have continued to work our way through the book Here We Are, looking at how people are different, different skin tones, clothing and the many jobs that people do. The children have labelled the parts of the body and talked about what they would like to do when they grow up.

In maths we have focussed on measures this week. The children have investigated weight - heavier and lighter, capacity - full and empty and we had so much fun measuring ingredients. The children worked in their groups making playdough. Miss Edwards and I hope the children enjoy playing with the playdough they have made.

In phonics we have learnt x and y. Please could the children complete their homework sheets over the weekend.

On Friday we had a fantastic day celebrating The Chinese New Year. The children completed many different craft activities and they all had a fortune cookie to take home. In the afternoon we got together with Nursery and reception 2 to have a go at our own dragon dance. The children created their own dragon masks and played percussion instruments. It was a great afternoon working together as the early years.

Our medal winner this week is Sammy! He is a hard working little boy who always tries his best. Sammy is a kind friend who enjoys making models in the construction area.

I hope you all enjoy looking at just a few of the pictures taken this week and have a super weekend.

Take care

Mrs Spooner x
