Hello Reception 2 Families
It has been a brilliant first week back! I'd like to say a big thankyou for keeping on top of home reading practise over the hols. Quite a lot of families haven't done their homework through Please can I ask that you keep up each week with the Floppy's Phonics home work sheets. They will help your child to consolidate the learning that they have done that week in phonics at school and it really makes a difference, thank you for your support.
This week, as part of our 'What a Wonderful World' topic, we have been learning about animals from different parts of the world. We chatted about animal habitats and the animal's features. The wealth of knowledge about animals was just wonderful! We went on to learn how to do observational drawing and how to closely look and draw what we see. We have drawn animals from around the world and we are very proud of our work! Enjoy the slide show of a few of the pics!
We have been finding out about Ramadan this week too. This is a very special time for some of our families and the children have been confidently telling us about their Ramadan. We enjoyed doing some lovely Ramadan art.
Next week we will be learning about minibeasts. We'll share the classic story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and find out about the life cycle of a butterfly.
Have a lovely weekend everyone
