Week 2

Hello R2 Families

We've had really busy week! We began the week with a fantastic music assembly. We're celebrating the musical talents of members of our school family this week and in the coming weeks. First up was the Borkin family. They brought their wide selection of string instruments and played and sang for the whole school!

The children had a lovely time helping Mrs McKee plant some bulbs in the beds, ready to bring some lovely blooms in the spring. The rain didn't spoil their fun!

In maths this week, we have been exploring ways of making the numbers 1 2 3, which is early number bond work.

It was Remembrance Day on Tuesday and we chatted about what this very important day was about. We made poppy collages and the children did a super job of observing a minute of silence along with the whole school.

This week has been Anti Bullying Week 2025. We have chatted lots about how we can be good friends. Thanks for joining in with Odd Socks Day. We had a lovely discussion around how unique each and every one of us is and how great it is that we are all different!

In Drawing Club we shared The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson. It is about a very kind and selfless giant who shares his smart new clothes to help others. The children went on to design the giant some new clothes. Their drawings were great and we're beginning to see some lovely writing accompanying their drawings.

Thank you everyone for attending Parent's Evening. It was so lovely to chat to you all about your fantastic children.

Next week in maths we'll be learning about circles, triangles and prepositions. In Drawing Club we'll share 'Would You Rather' by John Burningham and in our topic work we will begin to learn about our 5 senses.

Have a lovely weekend folks

Mrs Cook xx
