Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our VPIS families. School is now closed and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026

Week 3

What a brilliant and very busy week!

Musical Monday Assembly this week was brought to us by Freya's Grandma, Karen. She taught the children some lovely songs with her guitar and the whole school sang along!

We have explored the features of circles and triangles in maths this week. We found out about an abstract artist called Kandinsky. Kandinsky loved to create crazy art work using lines, circle and triangles. We all had a go at this and the results were wonderful!

Also in maths, we began to explore prepositions (positional language).

As part of our topic work we have been exploring our sense of touch and described the textures of different objects, using lots of lovely describing words!

We all took part in a taste investigation too. We explored salty, sweet and...

SOUR!!!!

The school nurse came to visit this week. She taught us about germs and the importance of hand washing.

It has been a chilly old week!! The children delighted in the frosty weather and explored the ice! Brrrrrrr!

Next week we will begin to piece together our up and coming Christmas Performance 'It's a Cracker!' We have begun to learn the songs this week! In maths we are going to explore number bonds for 5. Here is a little video that is very visual for you to watch and chat about at home together.

Number Pairs Make 5 | Number bonds 5 | Addition

Learn all the different number pairs that add up to 5.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Wrap up warm!
