World Book Day - Thursday 5th March - Come in your comfy clothes

Week 2

Hello R2 Families

What a super second week we have had! Here's some of what we have been up to...

Exploring weight in maths and using non-standard units of weight to predict and balance different objects on the the scales

Exploring capacity in maths too, investigating which containers hold the most in a hands on way

As always, enjoying indoor and outdoor continuous provision

We shared Here Come the Aliens! in Drawing Club! I was a lot of fun and it led to endless brilliant imaginative ideas, drawings and writing

A lovely visit from Olivia's Mummy and Daddy and new born baby Maggie

Exploring the solar system in our topic work

Continuing to work hard at forming our letters beautifully in our handwriting sessions (thanks for your on-going support with this at home)

Next week, we are gong to delve into our topic further and find out about different modes of transport and how people travel to places near and far. In maths, we will explore the numbers 6 7 8, how they can be represented and their number bonds. In phonics we'll learn the phonemes 'x' and y'.

Please can you help your child learn to independently zip up their coats and put on their gloves to help them with their independence. Also, putting their own socks and shoes on please. Thanks!

I'm also appealing to you to catch up with phonics homework please and to try your best to read with your child and practise their Helpful Words as frequently as you can. Thanks again.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Mrs Cook x
