Hello R2 Families

What a lovely first week back. This week we have begun a new topic, 'Let's go on an Adventure!' Our first adventure is in the woods and we have shared a book called 'Little Red' by Bethan Wollvinn, a quirky version of the traditional tale. We have written about the things we see in the woods and we have drawn pictures in the style of the illustrator in Drawing Club. In maths we have begun exploring numbers 11-13 by making amounts with two 10 frames and a counting around the circle game. 

We learnt a new craft skill this week too. We looked at baskets like Little Red's and watched a tutorial on weaving. We used a paper loom to weave with paper in a weft and weave. This was pretty tricky and the children were so determined!

The children have loved being reunited this week. I think they've missed each other.

The weather is going to be super sunny next week so please remember sun cream, hat and water. Please don't send your child to school with sun cream as we are not allowed to apply it. PE changes to remember... Tuesday Gymnastics and Thursday Football, please send your child to school in PE on those days. They are doing a short dance session on Mondays too but won't need a PE kit for that. Please will you share these changes on your Whatsapp, so everyone is reached. Thanks.
