Week 6

**Education City**

Did you know that we have a school Education City account? Please help us to make the most of this resource. Look out for log ins in book bags/ reading records and use the search feature to explore games and activities to support phonics, maths, and science. Homework may also be assigned on Education City by your teachers so be sure to check the class pages.

Thank you! Mrs O'Connell ðŸ™‚ (Year One class teacher/ Computing subject lead)

Hello R2 Families

We have had a super week smiley

In our topic we have begun to learn about our brilliant bodies! We have labelled the body parts on diagram of a body and we have talked about the things we need to do to be healthy and take good care of ourselves - exercise, rest, eat well and keep clean. We shared the story of Georgie Grub, the little boy who wouldn't have a wash. We talked about germs and importance of keeping ourselves clean. It was fun doing straw blow painting to create germ characters...

We have had lots of arty fun this week. We shared Funnybones in Drawing Club (which we loved and the children's creative responses were wonderful!) and we went on to make some skeletons using cotton buds!

In maths we have been learning about repeated patterns, the kind of repeated patterns you can create visually and repeated patterns we make with movements...

Next week we will continue to find out about how we can keep healthy and look after ourselves and will learn about the importance of exercise and sleep.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Mrs Cook smiley
