Hello R2 Families!
Well! The Autumn 1 term is a over! It has been a brilliant 8 weeks, getting to know your little people and helping them to settle into school life. This week we have enjoyed learning about 2 lovely festivals; the Hindu and Sikh festival of Diwali and Harvest Festival. Mrs Singh came into R2 to talk about how very special Diwali is to her. We found out about traditions that take place and and enjoyed using clay to make a Diva lamp. We enjoyed working with a natural material and using our hands to model and shape the clay. Christmas came early too when the glitter came out!
Harvest time is a great topic and the children have been learning about where food comes from and how hard farmers work to put food on our tables! Taking part in our Harvest Festival Assembly was a huge achievement for the children and Mrs McKee and I were super proud of them, especially for putting on 2 shows on the same day!
Next half term our 'Getting to Know Me and Getting to Know You' topic will continue. We will continue to find out about our bodies and will focus on our 5 senses. Over the holidays, have a lovely relax folks and we'll see you in November for short days and longer nights!
Take Care
